Brevard Public Schools to reopen Thursday after flooding

All Brevard Public Schools campuses will reopen Thursday, Nov. 5, after the district completed assessments following this week’s severe weather and flooding.The flooding washed out the only road into a Palm Bay neighborhood, leaving about 60 households stranded. Before- and after-school care, sports and other after-school activities will resume as scheduled.The district will excuse all storm-related student absences.Boil water notice remains in effect at some schoolsSeveral schools, primarily in southern Brevard County, remain under a boil water notice through the end of the week because of a City of Melbourne water utility advisory, the district said.The district said it has put additional precautions in place.
