The Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida is breaking ground on a new $57 million Center for Women and Families in downtown Orlando, bringing more beds and services to people experiencing homelessness. The more than 105,000-square-foot facility will be built at the Coalition’s campus at 18 N. Terry Avenue in Parramore and is expected to increase its capacity by 40 to 50 percent. Plans include 112 additional short-term beds, more than 75 beds in bridge housing, an on-site health clinic, expanded meal services, and childcare and youth programs. The goal is to help families get back on their feet by connecting housing, healthcare, and other support services in one place. Orange County is contributing $19.5 million through federal grant programs, with another $10 million coming from the City of Orlando s Accelerate Orlando initiative. Construction is expected to be completed by January 2028. The groundbreaking is scheduled for Wednesday, October 28, at 10:30 a.m., with
