Fatal crash involving homemade vehicle occurs in Lake County, according to troopers

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash involving a homemade vehicle that occurred in Lake County yesterday afternoon.The driver of a 1995 assembled homemade vehicle was killed after the vehicle ran off the road around 3:51 p.m.The crash occurred on Poinsettia Avenue as the vehicle approached Oleander Street. A passenger in the vehicle survived the impact and was transported to HCA Sanford Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.Troopers reported that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Poinsettia Avenue, approaching Oleander Street, when the driver lost control. The vehicle ran off the roadway to the left, reentered the road, and then ran off the roadway to the right.The vehicle continued moving off the road until it collided with a chain-link fence, a barbed wire fence, and a tree.
