Hurricane Isaias made landfall Friday evening as a Category 2 hurricane in the Florida panhandle near Destin. Isaias has quickly transitioned into a post-tropical low, losing all of its tropical characteristics and structure. However, deep tropical moisture and general circulation in the atmosphere continue to spill northward as what was Isaias continues pushing northward. A shield of rainfall continues to push into the Tennessee Valley eastward into the Carolinas Saturday morning. With a plethora of moisture mixed with the Appalachians and general hilly topography from the Tennessee Valley to the Mid-Atlantic, flooding is a concern for much of the South. A flood watch is in effect from western Mississippi and Tennessee eastward through all of Georgia and much of South Carolina Saturday. A moderate threat of Excessive rainfall (Level 3 of 4) from the eastern half of the Atlanta metro northward into western North Carolina.
